Volunteer

Solfest is part of the heart of Cumbria and the heart of Solfest is the people.

We are a family friendly festival that runs with the help, dedication and generosity of volunteers who all contribute their time and skills to making Solfest and amazing experience.

Our festival is on the lookout for enthusiastic people across several of the departments. So if Art is your thing,or talking to people to spread the magic at festivals through our PR Team, Stewards or Info tent then we want to hear from you.

We are needing help in the following areas

Build and Break

Working on the construction and deconstruction of the event – this includes but is not limited to painting, constructing stages, marking campsites, road building, erecting and dismantling marquees, creating car parks, fencing the arena and perimeter. It is physically taxing and may involve the use of power tools. We’ll be camping on site from just over a week before until about five days after the festival itself but you’d be welcome to join us on any of the days.

Build and Break Volunteers dont work over the festival weekend so this is a great way to see the whole festival.

These roles are artist-facing, and requires attention to detail and admin skills. You will offer a great first impression to artists arriving at the festival. You must be discreet, and you try not to be starstruck.

Some use of power tools may be involved. Creative spirit and artistic experience is good, but we’re also looking for skills like carpentry and basic painting.
