Solway Sunset
The Drystone Stage is proud to present Solfest's first community musical!
Reunited under a full moon, a brother and sister set off on a journey to find their home. Accompanied by musical pilgrims on a mission (Manchester's Juba do Leão Brazillian percussion ensemble), they ultimately find themselves at Cumbria's greatest music festival! Featuring story-teller Ian Douglas, and a cycle of old and new Cumbrian songs arranged for voices by Dave Camlin, including:
- I've Gotten a Rock (Susanna Blamire)
- Banks of Ellen (John Reay)
- Cumberland Moon
- Old Straight Tracks (Dave Camlin)
- Gah'n Yam (Dave Camlin)
- Place Where You Earned Your Name (Simon Kay)
Be part of it...
If you're coming to Solfest, you can learn the material at vocal and instrumental workshops over the Solfest weekend 24th - 26th August and join us on the Drystone Stage for the performance on Sunday 26th evening.
Everyone welcome! Bring your voice and/or an instrument.
