Kids Arena
Welcome to Solfest 2015’s Kids Arena! This year sees a move to our new home within the arena where we are delighted to offer you a mix of new activities and the return of some old favourites – but with loads more space to enjoy them in! We have something to appeal to everyone, from the crafty to the adventurous. We can’t wait to meet you!
Baby Chill-Out Tent
A Solfest Institution at the heart of the Kids Arena providing a little bit of ‘home’ to our oungest guests. Feed, change, play and shelter from the Cumbrian weather whilst we make you a cuppa. We will also be running drop-in activities for really young children with art therapist Vicky Gray Armstrong. See blackboard for details.
A Womb with A View
Will be providing a warm cosy space for pregnant women, their partners and anyone who wants to find out more about positive birth. Kati Edwards from the ‘Birth You In Love’ project will also be leading sessions on elimination communication.
The Ladybird Project
Prepare for a riot of activities from dawn until (after) dusk to include crafts, games, activities, dressing-up and general silliness. Don’t forget to come back later for the ever-popular Ladybird Cabaret suitable for all the family.
Mere Mountains
Learn Bushcraft skills such as fire-lighting and cooking, stick whittling and elder wand making. Sign up on the blackboards as places per session are limited.
Yoga Bugs
Child-friendly yoga based around stories with our old friend Debbie Macallister. Guaranteed to leave a smile in your tummy. (In the Workshop Tent).
Clay and Plaster Cast Workshop
Make a cast of your hand or create a clay tile to paint and decorate. (In the Baby Chill-Out Tent)
Ruffled Feathers/ Toy Dog Show
What started as a bit of a sideline has now grown and grown into a ‘must see’ on the Solfest calendar. Make your own dog with the Ruffled Feathers team and enter it into Solfest’s own dog show ‘Ruffs’ on Sunday. (In

Catz Face Art
Whether it’s a small flowery design or a full scary face, professional face painter Cat will be on hand to make your face-painting dreams come true. (In the Baby Chill Out Tent and Arena)
Pyjama Drama
A first for us at Solfest, we are pleased to welcome local Pyjama Drama leader Jessie Conway to deliver sessions for the disciplines of drama, music and play suitable for children age 6months – 7 years. (In the Baby Chill-Out and Ladybird Tent)
Over The Top Puppet Company
Joining us after a break of a few years, we are delighted that Mike Hares and his team will be returning with their fabulous workshops. Make a lovely quality puppet to take home and enjoy a performance of Willie the Wicked Wolf – guaranteed to keep everyone entertained. (In the Workshop Tent)
Magical Wool Fairy
Make a fairy/super hero/angel out of wool with artist Shai Cabili. (In the Workshop Tent)
