Solfest, the beloved west Cumbrian music and arts festival is back with a bang. The long awaited first wave of acts has now been released and it reflects beautifully the diverse nature of the festival people have come to love over the years. If this doesn’t wet your appetite enough you will be intrigued to know that the main headliners are still to be announced.
Whether you like raving till the sun comes up or sitting in the sun chilling to some folk music Solfest has it covered. With a multitude of acts and genres across 8 stages there will be something for everyone and that includes the kings of Bass and Breaks music The Stanton Warriors. The duo who run the record label Punks are considered among the biggest acts across the globe in their genre. Joining them will be an artist known for his great live performances, folk artist Beans on Toast. He is always a great addition to any lineup, another well-known folk artist is Will Varley who has been selling out shows all over the UK, he is known for his soft beautiful folk songs, something to really get your dancing shoes on to are The Dub Pistols (live) who are a firm favourite in the festival scene for their lively drum & bass madness on stage. Other stand out acts contributing to the international line-up of artists include Vadou Game, Serial Killaz, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Chainska Brasika, The Undercover Hippy, Captain Hotknives, Jinx in Dub, Vibronics, Stylus DJ’, Dirtbox DJ’s, Unity Sessions and Lost & Found crew.

Solfest will take place over the August bank holiday weekend the 25th, 26th and 27th at Tarns near Aspatria. It boasts 8 stages plus an extensive kids area, walkabout entertainment, storytelling, open mic and loads of other entertainment.
