What time does the festival start?
The campsites will open at 9am and close at 8pm on Thursday to those of you with a Thursday Camping Pass. The campsites will open to everyone else at noon on Friday.
-
Can I arrive on Thursday?
Yes, but you will need to purchase an advance Thursday Camping Pass. This is a single £10 vehicle permit for each vehicle, and does not apply if you are arriving on foot or by motor/pedal bike. You must get to the site between 9am and 8pm on Thursday because moving vehicles around the camping areas as it gets dark poses a significant safety risk. The gates will be closed at 8pm on Thursday and there will be no access to the main arenas until noon on Friday.
-
Is the festival family friendly?
Yes. We pride ourselves on having something for everyone, from workshops and events in the Healing Garden to activities in the Children’s Arena, and a vast array of music and performance spaces around the site. We want grans, granddads, brothers, sisters, mums, dads, aunts and uncles to join in the fun and have a brilliant time together.
-
Is there a family camping area?
Yes. Fellside is our family campsite, close to the kids arena and designed for families.
-
Is there a quiet camping area?
Yes. Townside is the place to go if you want to sleep when you return to your tent or campervan, but remember wherever you are camped, it is unreasonable to expect absolute silence all night – it is a music festival after all!
-
Can I bring my caravan?
Yes. We do allow caravans, campers, motor-homes and trailer tents but we encourage you to share transport where possible (for the environment's sake), arrive early to get a decent spot and travel in convoy to help reduce traffic disruption in the local area. We can't guarantee a level pitch and we do not provide electric hook ups. If you intend to arrive on Thursday, you will need a £10 vehicle permit.
-
Can I camp with my friends?
Yes, but we cannot guarantee it, so it's best to arrive early and as a group. We do not allow people to reserve, hold, mark, cordon off or otherwise claim a specific camping space so please all arrive together to avoid disappointment.
-
Can I park where I camp?
Yes, but once parked we request that you do not move your vehicle except in emergency. If you think you will need to leave the site in your vehicle during the festival, please park your car in the "day parking" area, located near the main gate.
-
Can I bring my dog?
No. At the request of the landowner, pets are not permitted for safety reasons.
-
Can I bring or buy alcohol?
Yes, but it's exactly the same at Solfest as anywhere else. We would ask that you do not bring glass into the arena and that you use our recycling points when you're finished. Under-age drinking is not permitted. Your adult ticket/wristband has nothing to do with the sale of alcohol or any other licensed products. The law is the law. If you are asked for ID and you do not have any, you will not be served alcohol.
-
Can I have a campfire?
Yes. We have a supply of wheel hubs that make excellent fire places and a huge stack of firewood for you to use. In return, all we ask is that you act responsibly and return your wheel hub to us at the end of the festival.
-
I'm disabled, what help is there?
There will be as much assistance as we can provide on a case-by-case basis. There is no concession for a disabled person but you may bring a carer free of charge (by prior agreement). We can provide electric hook ups for powered wheelchairs but please contact us in advance to arrange this, or for more information.
-
Does my child need their own ticket?
Yes, everyone at Solfest must have a ticket. Children under five years old will get their tickets for free but you must still order it.
-
Where can I buy a ticket online?
Only from our official online shop. No other company is licensed to sell our tickets online. Some may offer them, but these are called re-sellers or 'touts'. You may occasionally see our tickets on sites like eBay. As we allow an individual to transfer their ticket to another person, this is ok, but you must not pay more than the face value of the ticket or buy from anyone selling more than one or two, as they are unlikely to be genuine.
-
Can I buy tickets over the phone?
Yes. From the Carnegie Theatre on 01900 602 122.
-
Can I buy tickets in person?
Yes. You can buy tickets using cash at:
- The Carnegie Theatre
, Workington
- Mad Monks Music, Kendal
- Times & Star, Workington
- Cumberland News, Carlisle
- Whitehaven News, Whitehaven
Whilst our vendors should always have tickets in stock, it might be worth telephoning ahead before travelling to an outlet.
-
Will I have to pay an extra booking fee?
No. We don't charge you extra fees when you buy your tickets. Standard costs are included within the one fixed price and basic postage is only £1.75, free if you buy in person or over the phone. Please note: In the very unlikely event that we are forced to cancel the festival, up to 15% will be deducted from your refund. This is because while we do not charge you extra upfront, we still have to cover the cost of processing.
-
Can I cancel or change my online ticket order?
If your order has already been despatched: No. If your order has not yet been despatched: Possibly, at our discretion. Should you spot something wrong with your order, you should contact us immediately, so that we may fix it for you. If it's already on the way to you, it becomes much more difficult to resolve any issues. Although we will always try to help wherever we can.
-
Where are my tickets?
If you ordered your tickets from our online shop, delivery will take a bit longer than by telephone or in person. Normally 21 working days. Delivery times will get shorter as we get closer to the festival. Read more about postage and delivery.
-
I've lost my ticket, can I get a replacement or refund?
No. Unfortunately we are unable to replace or refund tickets which have been lost or stolen. A ticket is the only thing which will give you access to the festival. Your receipt, card statement, packing slip, etc. will not.
-
I can't come, can I get a refund?
No. Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. This means that you may sell or give away your ticket. However, you may not charge more than the face value.
