Haven't been for a couple of years but this line up will have us back.

    Bring on the weekend

Still a lot of money for no headline acts, I am all for bringing new talent through but you have to try and entice people to come as last year was a big disappointment with no main stage

Totally agree with Jim, last year missed that party atmosphere that headline acts bring. Up and coming bands are great throughout the day but at night you want something you can sing along too.

I've been going to Solfest for about ten years but if this year is like last year i won't be going again. It's suposed to be a festival with all kinds of music represented but if you aren't into lots of reggae, folk music or ska brass instrument type music you are going to be disappointed again because like last year it looks like no rock music is represented.

The dance and electronic tent side of things (which apparently the kids wanted more of according to a poll on FaceBook) that replaced the big stage were mostly empty through the day because all the kids were nursing their hangovers. So a total waste of space that could have been put to better use.

The big stage drew in a lot more people because a few famous bands played that people wanted to see and wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. With the amount of people that turned up last year i would be surprised if the festival and traders didn't make a loss.

Maybe i am wrong but it seems the organisers pick the bands that they personally want to listen to because it's their kind of music maybe that's why it is all pretty much the same.

Sometimes change is a good thing but in this case i really believe if something wasn't broken in the first place don't try and fix it because the atmosphere and the heart seems to have been ripped out of it.

    Peace

It's a few years since I've been to Solfest, first went in 2004.

In the early days there was plenty of entertainment, then the workshops etc. switched to focussing just on the children, Like others it would now take a known headliner to get me back. Although the mostly acoustic Cumbria tent was brilliant.

It's a real shame as for a long time it was the best festival around.
